KALOBEYEI DEVELOPMENT UNION

KALOBEYEI DEVELOPMENT UNION (KDU) is a Community Based Organization, Non-Profit and Non-Governmental initiated in January 2016 to help spearhead community driven development initiatives and enable needy community groups participate in integrated activities to achieve quality livelihood and be selfsustainable. KDU was created with ambition to nurture the human spirit to realize internal power that awakens personal ability through empowerment of both skills and knowledge in order to climb ladder of life economically, socially ,and Spiritually Our main purpose is promote youth and women employability through livelihood program.

KDU harness and develop the power of young people, by effectively involving them
in direct implementation of the core activities that develops their skills, enabling
them become self-reliance and sustainable people in community service and
development. KDU engages young people in a constructive manner enabling them
initiative and build their ideas, develop prototype, test and develop products that
meet the people’s needs and help reduce the problems and challenges that most
faced in development sector.

APPROACH

livelihood approach aim to equip youth and women with knowledge and capacity on hands on activities and business skills to realize their potential and make the community prosperous. Livelihood is much broken down to simple way i.e. TEACHING, TRAINING, EMPOWERING

FUTURE PLANS

Construction of a KDU Community Resource Center which will provide the
project’s target youth population with structured career development
information, skills and opportunities to get jobs, start own businesses or
transition into higher education.

It will as well serve as KDU community industrial and a long term base for of
livelihood program operation center.
 Establishment of a community microfinance institution i.e. a Community
Bank that will facilitate savings and loaning to poor people of the community
through VSLA.
