ICT EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

tHIS initiative through partnership with swiss contact provided ICT skills training to refugees and host communities in Kalobeyei, Kenya. The program aimed to enhance digital literacy, improve employability, and support income-generating activities through practical tech education. Key Features: Teaches basic computer skills, internet usage, and software applications. Includes vocational training like digital marketing, graphic design, or coding. The program targeted youth and women to boost economic opportunities.

VSLA TRAINING AND IMPLENTATION

KDU participated in equiping participants with skills to form and manage Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) effectively. Key Components: Savings: Training on regular savings collection and record-keeping. Loans: Guidelines on issuing, repaying, and tracking loans. Shares & Dividends: Explanation of profit-sharing from group savings. Governance: Roles of leaders, decision-making, and conflict resolution.

KDU,the Government and UN jointly came together to promote non-violence, conflict resolution, and social harmony through education, dialogue, and community engagement for growth and sustainability.

Key Activities:

  2. Mediation and dialogue facilitation.

  3. Youth and women empowerment programs.
